I’m really excited to be sharing a wedding with you from my home base of Melbourne. As is often the case with real love stories, these two were always in each other’s orbits. However, they didn’t connect until a chance meeting at a restaurant.
In life, you’d be lucky to meet very generous souls like Lynsey and Kai.
Think of a person in your friendship group that has a mothering nature, towards whom everyone gravitates. Lynsey is that person. She used to drive me to and from church when I was a poor uni student with no driver’s license. Once on one of those trips, her car broke down and when the RACV man arrived, he took a look at her clutch, moved it off ‘parked’ mode, shook her hand and drove off. She said we were never to speak of that incident again and 10 years later I write about it on this post.
When we first chatted about me photographing their wedding, Kai encouraged me to fully create to my heart’s content as they trusted me as an artisan. W H O A. That was true encouragement as they called out things in me that I hadn’t even seen yet, and of course still remember to this day.
Kai and Lynsey’s wedding happened on a perfect summer day at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Doncaster. It was a quietly beautiful ceremony filled with worship and loving words. It was an honour to shoot for them.
Without further adieu, a tiny snippet from their day…
How about you? Tell me about the very generous souls in your life.
